Built-in roles

Administrators

The Administrators role is central to managing application-wide settings and resources in System Frontier. During initial setup, the first user defined is the default administrator. Once logged in, other administrators can be defined directly or via Active Directory group membership.

Permissions

A user in the Administrators role has full permissions to the entire instance. These include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Add and manage users, roles and permissions
  • Manage all application settings
  • Add, manage and run custom tools
  • Add and manage computer objects
  • View all job output
  • View all history

Role delegation

Most Administrator permissions can be delegated to other roles to so they can manage various aspects of System Frontier without being a full administrator. This can lessen the burden on the Administrators role as well as enforce separation of concerns for different teams that help with administration of the solution.

Info

Administrators in System Frontier v1 are added to the SFSA role to provide complete administration and management of the product.

Everyone

All users are automatically members of the Everyone role. This is useful for the rare case where a permission is needed across all users.

Permissions

By default, the Everyone role has no permissions other than to view the main dashboard and read-only information about computer objects.

Info

In System Frontier v1, the SFSU role is the same as the Everyone role in v2.
